TTP Claimed Responsibility for an IED Attack on Police in Karak in 2026
Police Vehicle Hit by Explosion in Karak
A police vehicle was reportedly hit by an explosive device in the Banjo Banda area of Banda Daud Shah, Karak District.
According to a statement attributed to Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the explosive device was planted along the route of the police vehicle. The statement claimed that five police personnel were killed and three others were seriously injured.
The statement also claimed that the attack was carried out in response to the reported killing of prisoners who had been transferred from a Peshawar prison to the area two days earlier. TTP alleged that the prisoners were subsequently killed by police in a staged encounter.
