Agreements with non-Muslims in Islam
In Islamic jurisprudence, it is also established that making peace treaties with polytheists (non-Muslims in a state of conflict) is permissible under specific conditions, as Allah says:
‘Except those with whom there is a treaty between you and them…’
(Al-Anfal: 72)”

According to all jurists, a peace treaty is permissible only if it serves the interests of Islam. Without any such benefit to Islam, making a peace treaty is not considered permissible.

“O you who believe! When you meet the disbelievers in battle, do not turn your backs to them.”

Explanation of the Verse
Muslims should be prepared to face the enemy whenever necessary. If the enemy attacks, Muslims should stand firm and face them with courage. They should not allow fear or weakness to overcome them. Strength, preparation and steadfastness are essential when confronting an enemy.

And whoever objects to this by claiming that the agreement permanently prohibits jihad! This is incorrect. There are no agreements that last and remain forever. It is known that not all agreements between countries last.
