Agreements with non-Muslims in Islam
1: In Islamic jurisprudence, it is also established that making peace treaties with polytheists (non-Muslims in a state of conflict) is permissible under specific conditions, as Allah says:
‘Except those with whom there is a treaty between you and them…’
(Al-Anfal: 72)”

According to all jurists, a peace treaty is permissible only if it serves the interests of Islam. Without any such benefit to Islam, making a peace treaty is not considered permissible.

And whoever objects to this by claiming that the agreement permanently prohibits jihad! This is incorrect. There are no agreements that last and remain forever. It is known that not all agreements between countries last.
